Bubba Pollard Comes North as His Luck Runs South
PASS Visit Troubled by No Practice on Saturday
Bubba Pollard vowed that he would get away from his Deep South race tracks in 2011 and make some starts elsewhere in the Super Late Model world. Pollard made good on that promise and ventured to Orange County Speedway (NC) to the run the Orange Blossom Special 125 with the PASS South Super Late Models. The results didn't show much, unfortunately, as the #08 had mechanical trouble all weekend and finished 20th.
"The car was good in Friday's practice, but we had engine problems today,” said Pollard after Saturday’s feature. "We had a flat tire off the start and we tried to ride it out. We came in and changed it and went back out a few laps down hoping to make up some laps."
Pollard got the free pass and was making progress when the team decided to call it a night as the action on the track was getting a little too hot for them being a lap car.

"It was getting a little wild out there and we have a bunch of races coming up and we don't need to be wrecking our Atlanta Thrifty Nickel machine here so far from home. I love the track. It's fast and kind of like the old Peach State Speedway. The results may not show it, but we had fun."
Pollard will switch back to the Pro Late Model ranks as he will do the double at Five Flags Speedway (FL) on Friday and then the Viper Series at South Alabama Speedway (AL) on Saturday night.
